About Us
Cover crops play a crucial role in sustainable agriculture by providing permanent soil cover, preventing erosion, and stabilizing the soil. They control weed dominance, reduce disease and insect carryover, They also enrich the soil by increasing organic matter and collecting nitrogen from the air. Additionally, cover crops serve as wildlife fodder and habitat, attracting beneficial organisms that support ecological balance.

Cover Crops, are plants used primarily as soil covers. However, as legumes, they perform many beneficial functions for the soil, the oil palm and rubber trees as well as the environment.
Pueraria javanica (PJ)
Perennial, twining and climbing legume. Deep-rooted, hairy, and slightly woody. Primary stem can grow up to 10m, secondary stems grow from the nodes. Mass of foliage is between 60-75 cm deep.
Calopogonium mucunoides (CM)
Vigorous annual or short-lived trailing perennial. The stems are succulent, covered with long brown hairs. Rooting is dense and shallow at most 50cm deep. Creeping in the lower parts. Rooting at nodes in contact with the soil. Upper part of stem is twining. Mass of foliage is between 30-55cm deep.
Mucuna bracteata (MB)
Perennial, creeping, and aggressive climber legume. It spreads fast, thick stems and pseudo tap roots 2-3m depth. Branches from each node. Adventitious roots do not form easily from the nodes touching the ground.
Centrosema pubescens (CP)
Perennial, trailing-climbing herb with strong tendency to root at nodes of trailing stems. Will spread from stolons.
Calopogonium caeruleum (CC)
Perennial, twining legume. Its stems become woody with age. Rooting in nodes when in contact with moist soil. May be hairy or nearly hairless. Will spread from stolons under favorable conditions.
