Rootlife Sachet | The Organic Water & Nutrient Reservoir for Plants
Quick Facts
Also Available On
Rootlife is a proprietary water-retaining biostimulant manufactured by Chemiseed Sdn. Bhd. (Malaysia). It contains water retaining agent (WRA) with organic macro & micro nutrients. It is high in phosphorus and calcium. It is environment friendly and harmless to plants, soil, and animals. Rootlife is a excellent nutrient and water reservoir for plant roots. It is capable of holding water up to 80 times its own weight. With Rootlife, the soil surrounding the roots is loosened and aerated. The nutrients become available to the plant, and its root growth and formation are enhanced. Therefore readily available water supply and nutrients around the root zone produce strong plant stand and higher yield. Rootlife also increases the survival rate of transplanted plants. For enhanced soil conditioning, pair Rootlife with SoilBoost EA for comprehensive root zone improvement.
Application Methods and Recommended Quantities:
Seed Germination
- Mix 1 sachet per kg of seeds with 1L water. Wait 1-2 mins. Soak think-coated seeds for 10-30 min; longer for thick-coated seeds.
Seed Sowing
- Use 1 sachet per square metre. Apply in furrow, cover lightly with soil and sow.
Potted Plants
- 1 sachet per pot (adjust based on pot size)
Ornamental Plants/Lawns
- 1 sachet per square metre. Bury the sachet or apply in holes near the root zone, then cover with soil.

What is RootLife (Organic Water and Nutrient Reservoir) and who is it for?
RootLife is an organic water and nutrient reservoir designed for root-zone moisture retention in tropical crops. It absorbs and slowly releases water and dissolved nutrients, helping reduce irrigation frequency and supporting transplant survival in dry conditions. RootLife is applied in the planting hole or mixed with soil at transplanting to provide a moisture buffer during the critical establishment period. It is best suited for transplanting, nursery establishment, drought-prone areas, and container plants. It is not a substitute for irrigation in severe drought, and performance depends on soil type and application rate.
Quick facts: RootLife (Organic Water and Nutrient Reservoir)
| Product type | Organic water and nutrient reservoir |
|---|---|
| Material | Organic hydrogel |
| Application method | Applied in planting hole or mixed with soil |
| Target zone | Root zone |
| Primary function | Absorbs and slowly releases water and dissolved nutrients |

| Organic status | Organic-compatible |
Where does RootLife (Organic Water and Nutrient Reservoir) work best?
Best for
- Transplanting and nursery establishment
- Drought-prone planting areas
- Container plants and potted crops
- Reducing irrigation frequency
- Supporting seedling survival during dry spells
Not ideal for
- Waterlogged soils or already-saturated planting sites
- Replacement for irrigation in severe or prolonged drought
- Established plantations with developed root systems
What RootLife (Organic Water and Nutrient Reservoir) will not do
RootLife is not a substitute for irrigation in severe drought conditions. It provides a moisture buffer that extends the interval between watering events but cannot replace consistent water supply in extremely dry environments. Performance varies with soil type, application rate, and environmental conditions. It is not designed for waterlogged or saturated sites where excess moisture is already a concern.
How to establish and use RootLife (Organic Water and Nutrient Reservoir)
Place RootLife in the planting hole during transplanting or mix with soil at the recommended rate before backfilling. For container plants, incorporate into the potting mix at the recommended proportion. The hydrogel absorbs water during irrigation or rainfall and releases it gradually as the surrounding soil dries, maintaining root-zone moisture between watering events. Follow product label instructions for application rates specific to your crop and container size.
What does the research say about RootLife (Organic Water and Nutrient Reservoir)?
- Hydrogel-based water retention technology is well-documented in horticultural and agricultural research for improving transplant survival rates and reducing irrigation frequency in tropical and subtropical systems.
- Application in root-zone moisture management follows established principles of soil water-holding capacity enhancement.
Frequently asked questions about RootLife (Organic Water and Nutrient Reservoir)
How does RootLife work?
RootLife is an organic hydrogel that absorbs water and dissolved nutrients when moisture is available, then slowly releases them back into the root zone as the surrounding soil dries. This creates a moisture and nutrient buffer around plant roots, reducing the frequency of irrigation needed and supporting transplant survival during establishment.
How much RootLife should I use per plant?
Application rates depend on the crop type, container size, and planting conditions. Follow the product label for specific guidance. In general, RootLife is placed directly in the planting hole or mixed into the soil or potting medium at transplanting time.
Can RootLife replace irrigation?
No. RootLife helps extend the interval between watering events by retaining moisture in the root zone, but it is not a replacement for irrigation in severe or prolonged drought. It works best as a supplement to your existing water management program, particularly during the critical transplanting and establishment period.
Is RootLife safe for organic farming?
RootLife is formulated as an organic-compatible product. It can be used in organic farming systems where organic hydrogel inputs are permitted. Check with your certification body for specific organic standards compliance in your region.
