Many farmers in tropical regions struggle with declining soil health despite heavy fertiliser use. Soil degradation, nutrient lock-up and acidity can limit crop yields. Soil conditioners such as SoilBoost EA are one of the tools growers use alongside their fertiliser programme. SoilBoost EA is manufactured exclusively for Chemiseed Sdn. Bhd. and Kudzu Seeds Trading from 100% Leonardite ore and is used to support soil structure, nutrient retention and biological activity.

The problem: why tropical soils need more than fertiliser
Tropical agriculture is challenging because of high rainfall, intense heat and rapid breakdown of organic matter. Soil degradation, nutrient depletion and acidity are widespread across tropical farmland, and fertiliser alone does not rebuild soil organic matter or structure.
Growers who want to reverse soil degradation need a soil programme as well as a nutrient programme: organic matter inputs, lime where a soil test calls for it, and soil conditioners that help the soil hold and supply nutrients.
Introducing SoilBoost EA: a soil conditioner, not a fertiliser
SoilBoost EA is a humic soil conditioner derived entirely from Leonardite ore, a natural source of humic and fulvic acids. It is not a fertiliser and not a substitute for one. It is used alongside your fertiliser programme to support how the soil holds and supplies nutrients.

Key points:
- 100% Leonardite-derived humic substances.
- No added synthetic additives or microbes.
- Supplied dry, for soil application or dissolved in water as a root-zone drench.
- Analysed per batch, with a certificate of analysis available on request.
How can SoilBoost EA support soil health?
1. Soil pH: lime corrects acidity, humic acid does not
Humic acid does not correct soil acidity, and SoilBoost EA is itself acidic (pH 3.84 in a typical analysis). Where a soil test shows acid soil, lime is the tool for raising pH. Humic substances can then help hold nutrients in the root zone.
2. Soil structure and aeration
Humic substances can help improve soil aggregation, which supports aeration, water movement and root penetration.
3. Nutrient availability through chelation
Humic substances form complexes with micronutrients such as iron, zinc and copper and can help the soil hold nutrients, keeping them in forms plant roots can take up. This supports the efficiency of your fertiliser programme; it does not replace it.
How humic substances bind nutrients in the soil
4. Water holding
Humic substances may help the soil hold water, which can support crops through short dry spells.
5. Soil microbial activity
Humic acid provides carbon that may support soil microorganisms involved in nutrient cycling. Responses vary between soils.
6. Root growth and yield: what to expect
Better soil structure and nutrient availability can support root growth. Published research on humic products shows average growth gains but wide variation, with many studies finding little or no meaningful effect (Rose et al., 2014). We make no yield claim for SoilBoost EA; results depend on your soil, crop and fertiliser programme.
7. Where it fits in your programme
- Used alongside a balanced fertiliser programme, not instead of it.
- Part of a long-term soil plan that also includes organic matter inputs and, where needed, lime.
- Supports nutrient retention in the root zone.
Application guidelines

- Initial application: apply evenly before planting as part of soil preparation.
- Maintenance: re-apply on the schedule agreed with your agronomist. Plantation rates and methods are given on the product page or on request.
- Methods: broadcast onto the soil, mix into planting media, or dissolve in water as a root-zone drench; foliar application is also possible.
- Crops: vegetables, rice, fruit trees and plantation crops.
